Zakkia Bashia
Assistant Principal
Zakkia was born in Bradford and has lived in West Yorkshire all her life. Zakkia did her B.ED Hons in teaching at Bradford College and began supply teaching soon after she graduated. She has worked in many inner city schools in Bradford .The majority of her teaching career was spent in the Girlington area of Bradford where she worked mainly in Key Stage 2 as a year 6 teacher. In her last school, she was responsible for assessment and the mentoring and coaching of trainee teachers and students.
In September 2016, Zakkia joined Dixons Marchbank Primary as an Assistant Principal responsible for mathematics and as a Key stage 2 teacher. Zakkia is now in her second year at Dixons Marchbank Primary and thoroughly enjoys working with the pupils, staff and parents.
In her spare time she likes spending time with her family and friends, going to the gym and pampering days. She has travelled to many countries including Dubai, Egypt, Spain, Portugal and Morocco.
She is passionate about teaching and ensuring all pupils make fantastic progress both within her class and across school. Zakkia is particularly keen in developing excellent mathematicians at Dixons Marchbank primary in her role as maths leader.
