Celebrating the Coronation of our new King and Queen
Posted 9th May 2023
On Friday 5 May, we celebrated the upcoming Coronation of King Charles III and Queen Consort Camilla.
We started with a picnic lunch which took place in the hall due to the weather hampering our plans to eat together on the school field. During the afternoon, students took part in a range of activities such as producing artwork (one of the King’s passions), writing letters to the King, learning abut the history of the coronation, and we held coronation assemblies when we all sang the specially-written song, 'Coronation Day'.
Parents & Carers were invited to a Community Tea Party hosted by Sameera Khan, our Parental Involvement Worker, which was funded by a King's Coronation Grant from Bradford Council (East). Our guests enjoyed making crowns, colouring activities and shared some delicious cakes and savoury dishes.
Pupils and staff dressed in red, white and blue clothing and the school was a hive of excitement and celebration in anticipation of the weekend's events.
